<
Ella Joy Nelson is a multidisciplinary artist based in London. Her work is research-led, responding to her immediate surroundings and interactions (both irl and online). Primarily interested in collective experiences of gender to inspire fictional pasts, she examines the staging of femininity as a site of hysteria. Her current practice uses the reappropriation and replicating of found materials, with minimal intervention, to create ambiguity between what is confessional, provocative, escapist,
and the gaze from which it’s looked at.
